Travel for Treatment Fund

SickKids’ excellence derives from a combination of outstanding expertise, cutting – edge technology, and the passion everyone shares to heal the children in our care.
This profound care for children expresses itself in our outreach beyond the walls of our Hospital to children around the world through SickKids’ International Patient Program.
The International Patient Program facilitates the care of patients who come from outside of Canada to SickKids for live-saving surgery and treatment. Among these children are those whose treatment costs are provided through a humanitarian fund, which supports the care of approximately 30 children a year.
The Travel for Treatment Fund, established by Florence Naimer, extends this care by ensuring the transportation costs of the child and their parent or caregiver are covered. It funds the very expensive costs of flights from countries as far as Ecuador, Philippines, Syria, Botswana, and elsewhere. For some families, travel costs mean an entire year’s salary. This fund ensures that these children and their families get to SickKids for treatment quickly and safely. Please help us by making a gift to The Travel for Treatment Fund.
